Riesling Strawberry Slushies

With the summer heat, this is the perfect adult beverage to help you cool off.  4th of July was this past week, and we had a few people over to try our new pool.  As I was building my menu I wanted to add a special drink to the list.  I remembered seeing this recipe and pinning it on Pinterest awhile back, but I hadn’t found the perfect time to break it out.  This was simple and absolutely delicious.  For your guests who aren’t huge drinkers, these slushies are sweet and full of yummy strawberries to cut the alcohol (if that’s what you are going for).  Pair a glass of this delight with a float in the pool…heaven!

Riesling Strawberry Slushies  (from With Style & Grace)

  • 2 cups hulled strawberries
  • 1 bottle [750ml] dry Riesling
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Serves 6

Reserve 1 cup of the Riesling – cover and place in the fridge to chill.  In a food processor, puree strawberries with the remaining wine, lime juice and sugar.

Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze until solid.

When you’re ready to serve, puree the ice cubes with the remaining wine in your blender.
